$35  Android tablet is here in India; price can go down to $10

Indian Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal on Thursday launched a $35 Android tablet, it will be made available to students right from primary schools to universities.
The discussions are underway with global manufacturers to start mass production of arguably the world’s cheapest tablet.
According to the details,the tablet will come in three versions of 5, 7, and 9 inches display. It will be packed with 2 GB RAM memory, wi-fi connectivity, USB port and powered by a 2-watt system to suit poor power supply areas. It will laso have apps like internet browser, PDF reader, video conferencing facilities, open office, sci-lab, media player, remote device management capability, multimedia input-output interface option, and multiple content viewer.
This Rs 1,500 tablet is expected to first hit higher education institution starting 2011 — but the government could subsidise 50 per cent of this cost, bringing down the price.
“The price of the device is expected to be around $35 (Rs. 1,500), gradually dropping down to $20 and ultimately $10 per piece,” Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal said.

സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച പൈനാപ്പിള്‍ കര്‍ഷകനുള്ള 'പൈനാപ്പിള്‍ ശ്രീ' അവാര്‍ഡ് നേടിയ പ്രമുഖ വ്യവസായി ഇസ്മയില്‍ റാവുത്തറിനെ ചടങ്ങില്‍ ആദരിച്ചു. സന്തോഷ് മേനോന്‍, ബിജു ആബേല്‍ ജേക്കബ്, സി.കെ. സൈമണ്‍, വി.ബി.വി. നായര്‍, രജി ചാക്കോ എന്നിവര്‍ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.
